Collaborative mural painting at the Too Good To Go HQ in Copenhagen

Back in 2021 I was hired by the marketing team at Too Good To Go Denmark to co-create a team building mural with them in their funky new office space. I loved the process of working together with the team to come up with ideas. And then, visiting them in Copenhagen for the actual painting, it was such a treat!

The design process

I have a list of question that I usually go through with a group of 4-5 people. The point of these question is to help me get a sense of the company culture, it’s history, what it’s like to work there, what is the mission and vision, what matteres most to the employees, etc. We also spend some time talking about internal jokes and anecdotes that make each team unique.

Time to paint!

Obviously this is the most fun part of any collaborative mural painting project. After I put up the pencil sketches on the wall, little groups of 3-4 people come and start painting. We go colour by colour, so first everyone is painting yellow, then orange and so on. People get to paint for 60-90 minutes and then a new group comes. Throughout the day, people come and go and cheeck in on the development of the mural. Then, by the end of the day, the painting is ready and it’s time to celebrate!

The final mural

The final mural turned out super well! People appreciated the inside jokes and the hidden message in the center. They also mentioned how relaxing it was an activity and how much fun they had trying out something totally new with their colleagues. The result will remind them of the good times and the awesome things their team can do for a long time to come.
