Live illustration at a medical conference in two languages

On the 24 of February I was invited to a conference about pain management in premature babies. The conference was an important step for me because apart from being a very moving conference that touched me on a personal level, it was also:

1. the first medical conference I ever covered and

2. the first one where I had to work mostly in French. This matters to me because while I’m happy with my French skills in general, I wasn’t sure how I would be able to perform in a live illustration setting.

You see, the work of a live illustrator / graphic recorder requires that we do three different things together at the same time, which is that we listen, we synthesise the information and we draw it. So it was great to see that I can do this in French for a conference that covers neurology, surgical procedures, clinical studies and so much more.

If you have a conference, whether in English or in French, where you are addressing complicated / technical subjects and you would like to bring clarity to your audience and boost engagement, feel free to contact me.
