Graphic recording at the Utterly Content design conference
In March I had the absolute pleasure to do live graphic recording at the Utterly Content design festival. Design conferences are always a great experience because apart from learning a lot of practical things that I can use in my work, content designers are usually masterful storytellers which leads to fun and engaging talks.
How I do live event illustration / graphic recording at online conferences
The illustrations were created live on an iPad while I was listening to the presentations on the event platform online. I’m always trying to capture the main points and key messages and combining them with images to create an effective and memorable visual representation. By the time a session was finished, the visuals were finished as well, so the marketing team could shared them on their social channels.
How the live illustrations lived on
After the event, the Utterly Content team went the extra mile and printed the visuals. Then they mailed them to the speakers, who really appreciated the thoughtful gesture.
What made this conference stand out
All in all, this was a fantastic conference, and here are a few things that I think made it stand out:
